I Funny

I Funny book cover

Hey! I’m back with another book review. Today, I will be reviewing “I Funny,” a book by James Patterson. Let’s dive straight into it. So, we start with a boy named Jamie Grim.

He currently lives in Long Beach, New York. Before he lived there, he lived in a small quaint town called Cornwall, which is also in New York. Now, Jamie imagines people around New York as “zombies.” And if you’ve been to New York or live there, you know what I’m talking about. Now, at first glance, Jamie’s story is unfortunate. But with the right help, he was able to turn his life around.

Jamie uses a wheelchair because his legs are paralyzed from an accident that killed all of his immediate family. When he went into the hospital, he visited the library there often. That’s how he became a child comedian on his own. Once he got out of the hospital, his aunt adopted him. But, every morning when he goes to school, there’s a bully on the school grounds. Jamie manages to rescue a boy getting his lunch money stolen, but gets himself severely beat.

Jamie has two best friends. One is a brainiac named Pierce, the other a “bad boy” named Gaynor. Jamie’s stepfamily doesn’t ever smile. Oh, yeah. The bully who is on the school grounds is now Jamie’s stepbrother, Stevie. Haha, those little details.

Jamie makes it to the Comedy Finals, and that’s where the book ends. I give this book a 10.

I give I Funny a 10.

I believe you will enjoy reading this book because it’s about overcoming difficult situations and perseverance.

Happy Reading, Readers! Continue the laughs with Middle School 7 books collection set.
